FAQs

A: First, each staff member who will be using the ERT solution must first pass a national background check.

Once you submit approved background check(s) to your Dealertrack rep, a member of the training team will reach out and guide you through signing up and attending a training webinar on Colorado DMV knowledge and the ERT process. Finally, you will need to take a certification test and pass with a score of 80% or higher to access the system.

A: Dealertrack will host live webinar training sessions with our Colorado Reg & Title experts to share Colorado DMV knowledge as well as information about the ERT process.

Once you receive credentials to access the Colorado certification test, you will also get access to our Wiki user guide. This guide includes helpful information for you to review prior to taking the certification test.

A: After you successfully complete your certification test, you will receive your Colorado Reg & Title login credentials from a member of the Dealertrack Colorado training team via email.

A: You will have access to the following transaction types during Colorado DOR’s Phase 1 Launch:

  1. Title Only
  2. Registration & Title
  3. Registration Only
  4. Lien Release (coming soon)

A: Colorado ERT will give you the ability to:

  1. View and manage all of your deals from one screen
  2. Create an “Electronic Lien Received Date” for titles with lien stamps. When the title is issued, this will be the lien receipt date listed. The “Electronic Lien Received Date” will originate from Dealertrack’s system and be electronically applied and submitted as part of the transaction record.
  3. Calculate reliable taxes and fees for your customers
  4. Handle centralized processing across locations within a dealer group

A: Yes, you can process for multiple locations within a dealer group with one user ID. Just select your desired location from the drop-down menu.

A: You will receive information within two (2) business days unless the Colorado DMV requires further research for the deal.

A: A rejected deal will need to be voided. Just open the rejected transaction and select “create a copy” at the bottom of the screen. This opens a new deal, populated with the original deal information. Resolve the rejected information and resubmit. The copied deal will be assigned a new transaction ID.

A: No. You will scan and upload paperwork into the Colorado Reg & Title solution and submit it to the state electronically.

A: You can select the forgot password option on the login screen. After answering your security questions, a temporary password will be emailed to you. If you do not remember your security questions or are having trouble with the online process, call our password reset team at: 1-800-211-3643.

A: For electronic registration and titling (ERT), your dealership becomes the customer liaison for the Colorado County Offices. So, if your customer has a question regarding an ERT transaction that your dealership facilitated, please direct them to the appropriate representative(s) within your dealership. Your dealership can work with Dealertrack’s customer support for any additional help.
